Who is eligible to participate at Lakes Region Disabled Sports?
The Lakes Region Disabled Sports Center is open to children, teenagers and adults with a variety of physical, cognitive, sensory as well as emotional challenges. Read our Guidelines for Participation on the Student Participation page for the details.
Does Lakes Region Disabled Sports offer more than skiing?
We currently offer skiing, snowboarding and sit-ski instruction.
How do I sign up for a lesson?

Lessons are available on weekends, weekdays, and during holiday periods. In order to ensure the availability of adaptive equipment and instructors, reservations are required. Additional information can be found on the Student Participation page.
How much do lessons cost?
Pricing is available upon request, based on student needs and equipment requirements.
Can my parents or guardian attend during the lesson?
Lakes Region Disabled Sports encourages independence for our students. There are areas to watch your child's lesson develop as you sit in the Stockade Lodge and relax with a hot cup of cocoa. If the instructor feels that you are needed they can easily contact you with a wave.
Do I need my own equipment?
The Lakes Region Disabled Sports Center has equipment for children, teenagers and adults. If you already own your own equipment, you are welcome to use it during your lesson, though you may have to have it checked for safety first.
What is a typical lesson with Lakes Region Disabled Sports like?
All of the lessons at Lakes Region Disabled Sports are taught by experienced and trained volunteers. Lessons are 1 ½ - 2 hours in length. When you arrive you will be greeted by your instructor and fitted for the equipment you'll need for your lesson.
Do you have directions to Lakes Region Disabled Sports Center?
We are located at the Gunstock Mountain Resort. Directions to Gunstock can be found at the Contact Us page. Follow the signs for Adaptive Sports. We are located in our own building located at the base of Gunstock Mountain.
Is there parking nearby?
We have a dedicated handicap parking area in front of our facility.
What if I need to cancel my lesson?
Just call Lakes Region Disabled Sports locally at 603-737-4365 or email to email@example.com. We understand that life is unpredictable and you may need to change your confirmed schedule. We ask that you contact us at least 24 hours in advance so that we can fill your lesson space. Our phone is always on – please leave a message with your name and phone number.
How will I know if Lakes Region Disabled Sports Center cancels lessons because of weather?
We welcome the snow at Gunstock Mountain Resort as well. However, we understand it can make traveling to the mountain difficult at times and you may not want to drive in it. We only cancel winter lessons when Gunstock Mountain Resort has been closed due to weather conditions. Please call the main Gunstock Mountain Resort line to see if the mountain has been closed at (603) 293-4341. If we are still holding lessons but you do not want to travel in the inclement weather, please leave a message with your name and phone number letting us know at locally at 603-737-4365.
